Interview: CLAUDIO Micalizio's face telePAVIA

We speak of course television. You are one of the most famous faces in the province and the director of a big bet on the territory which is called TelePavia. A brave step, especially for a journalist who had a contract with Radio Monte Carlo armored ... Who made you do?
"Sometimes I wonder too ... (laughs). No, actually it is a choice that is brave, but perhaps that was certainly conscious and deliberate: to return to work in the territory where I was born, where I have taken the first steps and where I continued to live even in years when I was working in Milan. I love this province and I've always weighed it can not work here: I believe there is room for an editorial product like ours, original specifications, but also for editorial line. Plus I believe that good television can help the area grow, and why not, to become aware of the problems but also the enormous potential that still struggle to express. "
Behind your face there are still friends and "fellow bet" that you claim as Mark Punch, factotum on the technical side, and Gianni Arrigoni, marketing minds, both Lomellini doc. How did this partnership?
"Mark and I have known for 20 years, ever since we were both a mess TeleStudio TRE, the last active broadcaster in the province of Pavia until the late '90s: a gym is wonderful for those who wanted to learn this craft shop. Then the roads are separate, I am past the radio, Mark has become a successful producer of Mediaset, a company for which until last December, he oversaw the first World Championship in Italy. But both had the same dream, to return to give voice to our province. The opportunity arose with the arrival of digital TV, which actually opened the television market was shielded for 20 years after the entry into force of the law Mama. We rolled out the editorial project and we started looking for a lender: Marco Gianni Arrigone knew because he was the editor of a cellular, little more than a boy, he went to learn the job of technical director and audio. We have presented the project, he has evaluated and then gave us the green light and the necessary resources. And there began the challenge .... "
In what sense?
"Well, until then we had dreamed of now it was to get serious, to be able to demonstrate that the project could be written on the card to come through. The greatest merit of my partners was. It was to find the home, designed by the technical point of view, prepare, obtain ministerial permission, make connections and testing techniques, personnel selection: you imagine building a channel from scratch television? Sometimes even now I wonder how we did. "

"Unfortunately, or fortunately, we are only beginning. While we began broadcasting in February, it is equally indisputable that our baptism is coincided with the switch-off of a few days ago, we changed the frequency and this has allowed us to enter homes across the province with and finally a strong signal without interference. Not only that, from November 26, our customer base has expanded to seven other neighboring provinces. A strong responsibility that drives us to do better by focusing on our identity as an alternative to the other tv: no movies, cartoons or teleshopping and self contained but only local. "
The team that your side is formed by young people with a great desire to work, many of them born with TelePavia. It is said that in addition to the director to make also a school of television. One of your slogans is: "Never before has a television shouted, violent or tabloid." Several times in your programs you have indicated, in contrast, as the ruling style TelePavia. We do the same to capture the audience?
"The evidence of the public are positive. But, mind you, we're not doing anything exceptional: just a little back 'to the origins of journalism. Our editorial policy is simple: we must be impartial in the story, giving voice to everyone's ideas and give the public a chance to get a feel. But above all we must have respect for others, always: whether it be a protagonist of current or listener. Nothing revolutionary, but now they do it in a few .... "
But how do you avoid fights? In the talk-show national habit ...

"We're working to make a TV but the choice of content is required: firstly because the local news is a distinctive and original that allows us to satisfy a requirement of the territory. There are prospects for developing a concrete reality as your own and to live, must obviously have revenue? And in this regard, Excellence is the channel for advertising. "It 's a difficult time for advertising and TV is still a proposal to' study 'for many local investors but the market response was very positive so far.
